 Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has announced that the newly renovated 250-bed Ogun State Medical Centre of Excellence in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, will be commissioned in December 2025. The governor disclosed this during an inspection of the hospital, which was built by the previous administration . The Ogun State Government has inaugurated a State Technical Committee (STC) for the Nigeria for Women Project Scale-Up (NFWP-SU), in a move aimed at strengthening women’s economic and social empowerment across the State. Former Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government, Wale Adedayo, has accused Governor Dapo Abiodun of running a “visionless” administration and diverting funds meant for local councils, warning that the governor could face prosecution if President Bola Tinubu wins a second term. There was pandemonium in the Panseke area of Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Friday when an ex-convict stabbed a police officer in the forehead over an alleged affair with his wife. A violent confrontation broke out on Sunday between Nigerian soldiers and police officers returning from election duty in Onitsha, Anambra State, leaving several policemen injured.
