The Inter-Agency Joint Task Force of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has intercepted 35 trailers along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway and in the Bauchi-Maiduguri area.  PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the move was  aimed at curbing trailer-related accidents and the hazardous practice of conveying passengers in trailers. Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN, has cautioned the Nigerian government against allowing state governments grappling with the payment of the N30,000 minimum wage to create state police forces. The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has uncovered at least 1,665 fake A’level results during the Direct Entry registration process. The board’s weekly bulletin made available to journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, indicated that  the Registrar, Is-haq Oloyede, a professor, gave the figures when he received officials of the National Association of Nigeria Colleges of Education Students in his office. The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has announced its intention to take legal action against the administration of President Bola Tinubu over  the  increase in electricity tariffs.  This decision follows the recent approval by the Nigerian government of a significant tariff hike, raising the cost to N225 ($0.15) per kilowatt-hour for Band A electricity consumers.
