The Lagos State Police Command, through officers from the Akinpelu Division, has apprehended a 52-year-old physically-challenged man, Adamu Ileyasu, on suspicion of drug dealing. Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest in a statement shared on his social media account on Friday. According to Hundeyin, concerned citizens alerted the police about Ileyasu’s alleged involvement in drug trafficking. Upon his arrest, a search of his belongings revealed quantities of suspected Indian hemp and tramadol capsules. The Jigawa State Police Command has apprehended a suspected armed robber accused of assaulting a 20-year-old housewife in the Ringim Local Government Area. The State Commissioner of Police, CP A T Abdullahi  during a press briefing on Thursday, confirmed the capture of the suspect, along with two accomplices, following the reported incident. Three students of Al-qalam University, Katsina, have dragged the institution to a High Court in Katsina over the payment of their registration fees. The applicants, Hauwa’u Sani-Barda, Rabi’atu Sani-Barda and Hafsat Sani-Barda, all students of the respondent, got admission in 2018 and 2019 and graduated in 2022 and 2023. The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced the successful restoration of the national grid following a ‘system disturbance’ that occurred at about 4:28 pm on Thursday, March 28, 2024.  According to TCN, full recovery was achieved by 10:00 pm the same day.
