Three persons  have been killed, including one who was beheaded in a violent escalation between rival cult groups in the Ijoko area of Ogun State. The ongoing conflict involves suspected members of the Aye and Eiye confraternities. The clash reportedly began last Friday with the murder of Adisa, a suspected leader of the Aye group.  According to sources, Adisa was not only killed but also had his hand severed by his assailants. Daud Olatunji  Provost and Medical Director of the Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta, Dr. Paul Agboola, has refuted some   media reports  (NOT PLATFORM TIMES)  that patients bit staff and stated protests  last week.  Addressing newsmen on the development, Agboola clarified that contrary to some reports, neither  hospital staff  nor were three nurses were  bitten and  attacked. Ibrahim Lamorde, the former chairman of Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has passed away at the age of 61. Lamorde died on Sunday morning in Egypt, where he had traveled to receive medical treatment. A courtroom in Ilorin witnessed an emotional scene on Friday as Kolawole Mukhtar broke down in tears over a divorce case filed by his wife, Mutiat.  The Area Court was presented with Mutiat’s petition for divorce, custody of their three children, and a maintenance allowance for them. The 3rd Division General Court Martial of the Nigerian Army has sentenced Warrant Officer Danladi Shaggy to 28 years imprisonment for stealing military ammunition and an AK-47 rifle.  The court also dismissed Shaggy and five other soldiers from service for various infractions, while two additional soldiers were sanctioned. The judgment, delivered on Friday at the Maxwell Khobe Cantonment in Jos, Plateau State, was presided over by Brigadier General Liafis Bello.  The court found the eight soldiers guilty of offenses including theft, selling arms and ammunition, intimidation, and cheating.
