The police on Wednesday brought a 20-year-old man, Monday Ojo, before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged housebreaking and stealing of a pot of soup and other items. The defendant, who has no fixed address, is standing trial on a two-count charge of housebreaking and stealing. He, however, pleaded not guilty. A man, Ojo Oladeji has been sentenced  to life imprisonment for defiling an 11-year-old minor three times. PLATFORM TIMES reports that the convict committed the offence in an uncompleted building. Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court delivered the judgement  on Wednesday . The tranquility of Oda, Akure was shattered as a 17-year-old girl, identified only as Wumi, stands accused of committing a heinous act.  The Ondo State Police Command confirmed the arrest of Wumi for allegedly stabbing her foster mother, Mrs. Funmilayo Adelayi, to death. Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have apprehended Kayode Cole for issuing a death threat against the Chairman of the Commission, Ola Olukoyede. The Senate on Wednesday at plenary resolved to name one of its committee rooms after the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun. Oba Balogun died on March 15, at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, at the age of 81, after a brief illness two years after ascending the throne on March 11, 2022.
