The Strategic Communication Interagency Policy Committee (SCIPC) said the armed forces of Nigeria have in June, neutralised 857 terrorists, arrested 1,638 suspected terrorists and other criminal elements and rescued 921 kidnapped hostages. The Federal Government has clarified its stance on the recently signed Samoa Agreement, asserting that Nigeria’s law on same-sex marriage supersedes any clauses within the agreement that might be perceived as contrary to national legislation. A Bayelsa State High Court sitting in Ogbia Town has sentenced four individuals to 40 years imprisonment each for the kidnapping of a former Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Federal Otokito.  The judgement was  delivered on Tuesday by the presiding judge, S.W. Amaduobogha. Delivering judgment in Suit No OHC/4C/2022 on Tuesday, the presiding judge, S.W. The Court of Appeal in Abuja has overturned the expulsion of Martin Amaewhule and 24 other members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.  This decision nullifies an earlier ruling by the Rivers State High Court, which had barred the lawmakers from parading themselves as members of the House. Daud Olatunji Over 200 qualified applicants of the Ogun State Government’s housing scheme, Prince Court Estate Phase III, have  rejected a new directive requiring them to pay an additional ₦3,500,000 within 60 days.  PLATFORM TIMES reports that the fee is on top of the ₦5,500,000 they already paid in 2021.  The applicants have accused Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration of playing tricks and engaging in fraudulent practices.
