Reverend Isaac Umurie, an esteemed Anglican bishop, met a tragic end at the hands of his son, Ufuoma, in Okpare town, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.  The horrific incident unfolded on Wednesday morning, leaving the community in shock and mourning. A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the remand of Mrs. Tosin Olagunju, an official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), in Suleja Prison, Niger State.  Olagunju faces allegations of obtaining N12,400,000.00 from job seekers under false pretenses, with the promise of securing them employment. Arraigned on a four-count charge, Olagunju pleaded not guilty to all charges.  The charges include defrauding Nigerians by false pretences, criminal conspiracy, dishonestly converting funds for personal use, and fraudulent inducement. Terrorists in Kaduna have demanded  N300 million ransom  over  a kidnapped female judge, Janet Galadima after killing her eldest son. The  incident occurred in the Mahuta New Extension, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State. An Osun State High Court sitting in Ede has convicted and sentenced five men to death by hanging for the kidnapping and murder of Alhaji Ibrahim Adamu, a prominent Fulani man. The convicts – Ibrahim Issa, Lateef Bello, Abdul Ramon Soliu, Bello Ibrahim, and Abudu Mumini Jolaanobi Saheed – were arraigned on four charges, including conspiracy to kidnap and murder.  Despite their pleas of not guilty during the arraignment on October 28, 2021, the court found them guilty on all counts. Daud Olatunji  Aliko Dangote, the Chairman and CEO of Dangote Group, has voiced strong criticism against the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) recent interest rate hike to nearly 30 per cent.  Speaking at the opening session of a three-day summit organized by the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Abuja on Tuesday,  Dangote warned that businesses cannot cope with the current rate. Five police officers attached to the Zone 6 Police Headquarters in Cross River State have been arrested  for allegedly abducting and extorting the sum of N3million  from a victim.  PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the  incident occurred while the officers were on patrol along the Ikom-Calabar highway. The Zonal Police Public Relations Officer (ZPRO), SP Nelson Okpabi, revealed this in a press statement issued on Tuesday.
