The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared a two-week total and comprehensive warning strike across all public universities in Nigeria, citing the Federal Government’s failure to fulfil long-standing agreements with the union. Tragedy struck on Saturday at the Wawa Military Cantonment in New Bussa, Niger State, when a soldier, identified as Lance Corporal Femi Akinleye, shot his wife dead before turning the gun on himself. Officials of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) have intercepted two passengers at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2), Lagos, with a staggering $6.1 million in cash allegedly concealed in multiple boxes. The suspects, identified as Mahmud Nasidi and Yahaya Nasidi, were reportedly arrested by Aviation Security (AVSEC) officers while attempting to board an Aero Contractors flight to Abuja on Friday.
