The Acting Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Folashodun Shonubi, has announced that the apex bank is committed to clearing all foreign exchange backlogs within the next two weeks. The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has instructed state Muslim pilgrims’ welfare boards to commence preparations for the 2024 pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia. In response, NAHCON has established a tentative fare of N4.5 million per slot for the pilgrimage and directed the affected boards to start collecting deposits from prospective pilgrims within their respective states. The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has taken a significant step by raising the prices of electricity meters under the Meter Assets Programme (MAP).  This decision was communicated through an official order issued by NERC Chairman, Engr. Sanusi Garba, and the Commissioner for Legal, Licensing, and Compliance, Dafe Akpeneye, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
