The House of Representatives is set to probe the alleged N1.8 trillion tax owed to the Federal Government by Multichoice Group, the operator of DSTV and GoTV. The resolution followed the adoption of a motion by Rep. Saidu Abdullahi(APC-Niger) at a plenary in Abuja on Wednesday. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said prices of beef, rice, beans, onion, tomato, and other food items increased in January 2024 in its Selected Food Prices Watch report for January 2024 released in Abuja on Tuesday. Controversies are trailing the arrest of a 21-year-old student of the University of Calabar, Anthony Oscar, for allegedly kidnapping a 17-year-old Araba Joy Temitope as a student of Elibest College of Education, Oba-Ile in Akure, the capital of Ondo State.
