Traders from the phone and digital market at TARMAC in Ibara, Abeokuta, are urgently appealing to the State Governor,  Dapo Abiodun, to prevent the impending demolition of their market. Protesters on Friday, stormed  the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission headquarters in Abuja, demanding the immediate investigation and arrest of the former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello.  The group, led by former Kogi state Deputy Governor, Hon Simon Achuna, along with Peter Ocheni and NADECO Okpanachi, accused Bello of financial impropriety totaling N80 billion.  The protesters urged the EFCC to revisit its earlier investigation into Bello’s tenure, which had been hampered by the constitutional immunity granted to the governor during his time in office.  In a formal letter submitted to the EFCC, the group called for a thorough investigation…

Tragedy struck in the Araromi Imota area of Lagos State as 80-year-old Isiyaka Ayinde reportedly took his own life at the Watch Tower on Thursday evening around 7:30 p.m.  According to a police source, the elderly man was discovered by his children hanging in the kitchen with a rope tied to the burglary proof of a window. “The deceased’s family, influenced by age and religious beliefs, insisted on an immediate burial,” confirmed Benjamin Hundeyin, the State Police Public Relations Officer.  Despite DCB personnel visiting the scene and documenting the incident, the family opted against depositing the body at the mortuary.…

A  Nigerian policeman was caught on camera hiding behind a wall while armed robbers targeted two commercial banks in Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.   The heist, which began around 5 pm, involved indiscriminate shootings as the assailants made their escape with stolen money. The Police Command in Kwara has arrested four students of Kwara State University (KWASU) who allegedly beat their fellow student to death. Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Ilorin. Ejire-Adeyemi said that investigation into the alleged killing was ongoing. NAN had gathered that some KWASU students allegedly beat their fellow students to death for videoing them.
