The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has arrested 20 motorists for violating various traffic rules and regulations on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway. Mr Wasiu Ogunmefun, the Ota Unit Commander, FRSC, disclosed this to NAN on Thursday in Ota, Ogun State. He said that the traffic rules enforcement exercise was part of efforts to check the excesses of drivers along the corridor. Ogunmefun explained that the offences committed by the motorists include overloading, driver’s licence violation, failure to install speed limit devices, and tyres violation, among others. The Kaduna State Primary Healthcare Development Agency has recorded one death out of 86 suspected cases of cholera. A report by UNICEF released on Thursday says more than 79 million women and girls across sub-Saharan Africa have experienced rape or sexual assault during childhood. According to the report, the region ranks among the most dangerous places globally for girls.
