For years, Nigeria’s Osun and Kogi states have grappled with the negative impact of illegal mining operations. From environmental pollution to loss of livelihoods, the effects of these operations have been felt by communities in both states. An undergraduate student at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, AbdulQuadri Olamilekan Tijani, has raised the alarm over an alleged threat to his life by some suspected cult group.
