The Kwara Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced that the first batch of intending pilgrims will depart from Ilorin International Airport to Saudi Arabia on May 12. Executive Secretary of the Board, Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, made this known during an enlightenment programme for 2025 intending pilgrims on Sunday in Ilorin. The price of a 50kg bag of rice has dropped to N58,000 in some parts of Nigeria, particularly around remote areas, amid imports from the Republic of Benin, a report by S&P Global has said.
