A fifty years old woman, identified as Nemis Usman, has been reportedly killed by a hit and run driver in Taraba State. The woman, who was participating in ‘Operation Keep Taraba Clean’, was crushed to death by the yet to be identified driver in the Jalingo metropolis. The Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri has said that some people in the country are holding oil block licenses as souvenirs and have failed to secure investment or undertake exploration activities. Residents of the NEPA community in the Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State have apprehended a suspected kidnapper who collected N1.5 million ransom from the relatives of his victims. Rights activist, Femi Falana, has asked the Nigeria Police to charge the protesters remanded in prison custody to court before August 25 or face legal action.
