Twenty-one environmental offenders have been convicted by a mobile court set up by the Kwara State government to enforce the new law announced by the government. Twelve others are awaiting trial by the mobile court since enforcement commenced on Wednesday in Ilorin, the state capital. The Presidency on Thursday said it is aware of the failed attempts by a Chinese company, Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Co. Limited, to take over offshore assets of the Federal Government of Nigeria through subterfuge. Nigeria’s inflation fell to 33.40 percent in July 2024 from 34.19 percent in June on a year-on-year basis. This is the first time the country’s inflation has cooled down since December 2022 when it stood at 21.34 percent. The National Bureau of Statistics disclosed this in its latest Consumer Price Index and Inflation for July released on Thursday. The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has deployed Corps Commander, Taofeeq Sokunbi, as the new Sector Commander for Osun.
