The Senate on Thursday approved the establishment of the South West Development Commission following consideration of a report by its Committee on Special Duties. Chairman of the committee, Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan (APC Borno Central) presented the South West Development Commission Bill, 2024, after which it was passed for third reading by the Senate during plenary. Former President Goodluck Jonathan, on Thursday, denied sacking the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, for alleging that $49.8 billion went missing from the country’s coffers. Bayelsa Queens have beefed up their squad with three players ahead of the new season. The new players are Oscar Precious, Confidence Onen and Yinusa Zainab.
