Vigilant youths of Ogbaru have orchestrated the arrest of five youths who have allegedly been aiding secessionist elements in their attacks on the local government. Though Ogbaru has been plagued with violence as a result of oil mining activities and bunkering in the area, suspected Biafra secessionists have also been invading and damaging properties there. There have in recent times been attacks on police stations, local government secretariat and even an attack on UN officials who visited the area. Aliko Dangote, the President of Dangote Group has reiterated that his $20 billion Lagos-based refinery will stabilize the Naira against the dollar at the foreign exchange market.
