Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has dissolved the caretaker chairmen in the 44 local government areas in the state. He directed the caretaker chairmen to hand over to the Directors of Personnel Management, DPM, in their respective council areas. The governor made the announcement during a special meeting held at the Africa House, Government House Kano, saying that the dissolution applies to all chairmen, vice chairmen, secretaries, and councilors in the state. The National Examination Council, NECO, has released the results of the 2024 Senior School Certificate Examinations, SSCE, internals with 828,284 candidates, representing 60.55 per cent, scoring five credits, including Mathematics and English Language. NECO Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Prof Dantana Wushishi made this disclosure while releasing the results before newsmen at the Council’s Headquarters in Minna, Niger State on Thursday. Ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Edo State, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has called on political parties to suspend all campaign activities. The Commission in a post via its official X handle reiterated that all campaigns by political parties must end at midnight today, Thursday, 19th September. The residents made the appeal during the second day of the protest against the ongoing demolition of houses in the city. The National Examinations Council, NECO, has released the 2024 SSCE internal results. The Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO, Professor Dantani Wushishi, disclosed this on Thursday while briefing newsmen at the organization’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State. Wushishi also said that NECO blacklisted 21 supervisors in 12 states and de-recognized one school in Ekiti State for mass cheating in two core subjects and one science subject.
