Gunmen suspected to be secessionist elements on Monday attacked Umunze police station, killing two personnel on duty. The gunmen who invaded the station shooting sporadically also burnt a building within the premises of the station. The Nigerian Army’s 6 Brigade, in Jalingo, Taraba State, has issued a warning to the public to stay away from shooting range areas during an upcoming military exercise. The warning comes ahead of the 2024 Annual Range Classification Phase 2 exercise, which is scheduled to take place from September 17 to 19, 2024. At least 35 people have died in a road accident that occurred near Samunaka in Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The victims, who were Muslims travelling to celebrate Maulud, were said to be on board a J5 bus that collided head-on with an articulated vehicle.
