The Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission, KESIEC, on Sunday declared the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the winner of all the positions contested in Saturday’s local council polls in the state. Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Aliyu Muhammad-Mera, who announced the results in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday, said the party won all the 21 chairmanship and 225 councillorship seats. The Akwa Ibom State Police Command said it has raided a criminal hideout at Ring Road-3 in Uyo and arrested two suspected drug traffickers. The Police spokesman, ASP Timfon John who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, said firearms were also recovered from the operation which took place on Saturday. The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has launched the use of communication gadgets for referees in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL. The NFF launched the use of the gadgets in the game involving Rangers and El-Kanemi Warriors at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on Saturday. The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, says it has capacity to transmit 6,000mw of electricity to distribution load centres nationwide. The Osun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, says four persons lost their lives in an accident that occurred on the Osun-Ondo expressway on Sunday.
