The World Health Organisation, WHO, has revealed a global Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan, SPRP, to combat human-to-human transmission of Mpox. This was contained in a statement issued by the world health body on Monday. According to WHO, the plan which will run from September 2024 to February 2025, requires 135 million U.S. dollars in funding. The Nigeria Premier Football League has increased the salaries of match officials in the top-flight. The referees’ salaries were increased by 50 percent. NPFL chairman, Gbenga Elegbeleye announced the rise in the indemnities of match officials. The move is to ensure fair and credible officiating in the NPFL. Elegbeleye stated that negotiations were ongoing to secure air transportation for referees and players.
