Former governor of Ogun state,Gbenga Daniel has said that the bill for the establishment of the Federal College of Aviation Technology, Ilara Remo was to complement the efforts of the government in the state.
Daniel is championing the bill for the Federal College of Aviation Technology in Ilara Remo, aiming to enhance the government’s initiatives in the state.
The former governor, the bill’s sponsor, highlights its focus on crucial courses like Aircraft Design, Navigation Systems, and UAVs.
Speaking during Chief Suarau Bankole’s installation, Daniel stressed the significant benefits Ogun residents and Nigerians stand to gain once the bill is implemented.
The aviation project, initiated years ago, aims to support the government’s development efforts in the state.
Daniel said the bill which had gone through second reading at the upper chamber, had a mandate to deliver on courses on Aircraft Design and Construction, Navigation and Communication Systems, Flight Management Systems, Engine Technology, Safety Systems, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)…amongst others.
Speaking with newsmen at the sideline of the installation of Chief Suarau Bankole as the Apena Egbaland on Saturday said Ogun people and Nigerians have so many things to gain from the bill when implemented.
He said “We started this aviation project few years ago
“It is to support and compliment the efforts of the government to develop the state .
Daniel had hinted that the bill was in fulfilment of his campaign promise.
He had also added that the transformation of the current Technical College in Ilara-Remo to a College of Aviation Technology will complement the current Agro-Cargo Airport in Ilisan and most importantly, offer the much-needed local skill acquisition for our nation’s aviation sector.
