A notorious bandit leader, Bello Turji, has disclosed that his group is being sponsored by God.

Turji made the remark while dismissing reports that the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle was sponsoring his activities.

Matawalle and his successor, Governor Dauda Lawal have been making claims and counter-claims over the sponsorship of terrorism in the state.

Recently, the Minister challenged governor Lawal to swear with the Quran that he was not involved in the banditry activities affecting the state.

However, Turji distanced the governor and his predecessor from banditry activities in the state.

In his latest video, the bandit leader said: “Governor Dauda Lawal and Bello Matawalle labelling each other as terrorists (sponsors) will not help.

“I want the people of Zamfara to understand that they are just politicians without the interest of the people of Zamfara in their hearts.

“When (Mr) Matawalle was the governor, who was sponsoring us? Similarly, when Abdulaziz Yari was the governor who was sponsoring us? Nobody is sponsoring us except God.”
