A gang of bandits have killed three persons including two friends in Matazu and Kankia Local Government Areas of Katsina State.

A man identified as Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, also known as Solo, was shot dead by the gunmen in Kankia on Saturday night.

Spokesman of the State Police Command, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, said the incident took place around 8:40 pm in a low-cost residential estate near the Kankia General Hospital.

According to a resident, the gunmen rode to the estate on motorcycles and shot Abdullahi when he questioned them. They fled after the shooting, leaving him in a pool of blood.

The incident caused panic among traders, residents, and passers-by on the Katsina-Kano highway.

In Matazu LG, two friends who were kidnapped by bandits have been confirmed dead on Friday.

It was gathered that the deceased, Jamilu Banju, his friend and some other youths were abducted at a bakery a month ago.

According to a member of the community, bandits killed the victims despite collecting ransom from their family.
