Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, has shown his support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dapo Abiodun, by delivering two polling units to the party.
Bankole, who was previously the governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party in Ogun State in 2019, later joined the APC.
The polling units that Bankole delivered were located at his father’s house in Oluwo, Onikolobo, Abeokuta, and his village in Iporo Bankole, Sanyaolu-Olobe, Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State.
At unit 13, Ward 1 in Iporo Bankole, the APC defeated the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) by 34 votes to 16. Similarly, at polling unit 8, ward 14 in Oluwo, Abeokuta-South Local Government Area of the state, Bankole’s efforts paid off as the APC won with 96 votes while the PDP trailed behind with 68 votes.
Also at a polling unit 8 ward 14, Oluwo in Abeokuta-South local government area of the state, Bankole won for Abiodun as APC polled 96 while PDP polled 6.
