Popular Nigerian comedian, Julius Agwu has said that there is more to the feud between his colleagues Ayo Makun (AY) and Bright Okpocha (Basketmouth) than the issue of N30,000.
The longtime beef between the duo was brought to the limelight when AY granted an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo just before his Easter Sunday show, AY Live.
PLATFORM TIMES had reported that AY said he and Basketmouth have not been on talking terms over N30,000 which Basketmouth refused to pay him when he performed at a show on the latter’s behalf about 17 years ago.
Basketmouth responded that AY was not telling the true story claiming he had forgotten about the money and that he distanced himself from AY because he heard some things which he did not like about him.
While featuring recently in an interview on Naija Info FM, Agwu stated that there seems to be more to the story than what is being discussed in the public space.
He also claimed that he called AY after he learned that the latter was planning a show on the same day he usually hosts his comedy show, only for his colleague to hang up on him.
“I don’t think it’s just the N30,000. Maybe there is more. Na we dey backstage. We nor go fit know. Maybe there is something else that is making them angry and they have both carried in their minds that is causing them quarrels.
“Laugh For Christ’s Sake was every Easter Sunday before AY began to do promo saying he was doing one show. I called AY telling him that day is my day, hand e cut the call on my neck,” Agwu said on air.
