The Bauchi State Government has suspended six traditional rulers have been suspended for partisan politics, misconduct, and illegal forest reserve invasion or tree fall.
Acting Permanent Secretary in the Bauchi State Local Government Service Commission,Nasiru Dewu confirmed this on Friday.
Dewu stated that Governor Bala Muhammad approved the dismissal of two district heads and four village chiefs from the Bauchi and Katagum Emirate Councils due to confirmed allegations levelled against them.
He added that the firing was recommended by the commission due to their engagement in partisan politics, misconduct, and illegal forest reserve invasion or tree fall.
“Misappropriation of public funds and insubordination, which is contrary to the Public Service Rules,” he added as other reasons for the disciplinary action against the affected persons.
Dewu lists the traditional rulers expelled from Katagum Emirate as Allhaji Aminu Malami, District Head of Udubo, and Alhaji Bashir Umar, District Head of Azare.
Others are Malam Umar Omar, the Village Head of Gadiya, and Malam Umar Bani, the Village Head of Tarmasawa.
Malam Bello Sulaiman, Village Head of Beni, and Alhaji Yusuf Badara, Village Head of Badara, have been fired in Bauchi Emirate.
Dewu added that the affected traditional rulers had been asked to give over to their respective secretaries.
He also directed the concerned Emirate councils to appoint oversight officers while the panel made substantive appointments.
