Bauchi State government has enrolled 80,000 vulnerable individuals into the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF) since June 2021.
The Bauchi State Health Contributory Management Agency is implementing the programme in 323 primary health facilities, 26 general hospitals, and Specialist Hospital in Bauchi.
The programme targets individuals in the informal sector, accounting for over 75 percent of the population, who are not working in an organized setting.
It can be an individual or family plan, with an annual fee of N12,000 for individual plans and N10,000 for family plans with up to seven members.
Currently, 40% of the registered vulnerable enrollees are accessing medical services in all the health facilities, and the program aims to have all enrollees accessing services by June 2023.
