Electricity has been restored in Plateau, Bauchi, Gombe, and Benue states under the Jos Electricity Distribution franchise.
Daily Trust reports that power was restored at approximately 7:20 pm on Wednesday.
The development excited residents of Jos, Plateau capital, who erupted into jubilation immediately the light was restored.
DAILY POST reports that the Shiroro-Kaduna transmission line was recently vandalized, leading to a total blackout in about 17 northern states.
Following the ugly development, President Tinubu on Monday met with the Minister of Power, Mr Adebayo Adelabu, where he directed the ministry and relevant agencies to speed up the pace of work to restore electricity to all the affected states.
The federal government on Tuesday promised that power would be restored within two to three days.
