Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, has revealed that controversial crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, broke down in tears and displayed signs of distress upon arrival in prison.
Baba Ijesha disclosed this during an interview with actress and media personality, Biola Bayo, where he recounted his experience with Bobrisky during their time in detention.
According to him, contrary to widespread speculation that the social media personality enjoyed preferential treatment or was lodged in a hotel facility, Bobrisky was held in a regular cell and struggled to cope with the harsh conditions.
He said, “When Bobrisky got to the cell, he was crying and rolling on the floor. It’s not true that he was taken to a hotel.”
The actor described Bobrisky’s initial reaction as one of fear and anxiety, noting that the reality of incarceration appeared overwhelming.
Despite the emotional breakdown, Baba Ijesha portrayed Bobrisky as compassionate and supportive to fellow inmates, stating that he often shared food brought to him with others in custody.
He further revealed that Bobrisky’s mother regularly provided meals not only for her child but for a large number of inmates, sometimes feeding hundreds of prisoners.
“Whenever food was brought for him, he would share it with other prisoners. It was his mum that used to bring food. She would cook for many inmates and was always emotional,” he added.
The actor also urged the public to look beyond Bobrisky’s flamboyant online persona, describing him as a kind and dependable individual in reality.
Baba Ijesha, who has had his own legal battles in recent years, concluded by expressing a renewed sense of empathy for inmates, declaring his intention to advocate for prisoners’ welfare.
