Lagos is gearing up for another round of digital innovation and intellectual engagement as Bodex Media announces the 6th edition of its flagship event — Bodex Social Media Hangout (BSMH 6.0) — billed to hold from Friday, November 21 to Sunday, November 23, 2025.
With the theme, “Social Media & A.I Influence: Transforming Yourself, Services & the Society,” the three-day event will explore the growing intersection between technology, influence, and ethics in Africa’s evolving communication landscape.
According to the Convener, Bodex Hungbo, this year’s edition will run across two major venues — the University of Lagos, Akoka, and the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja — hosting top policymakers, scholars, digital strategists, legal experts, and creatives.
“We are bringing together brilliant minds who are shaping the narrative around how artificial intelligence and social media influence society, business, and governance,” Hungbo said.
“From education and ethics to creativity and law, the Hangout will provide fresh perspectives on how innovation can drive transformation.”
Day One: Ethics, Education, and Youth Empowerment
The opening session tagged “The Learning Experience” will hold on Friday, November 21, at the Distance Learning Institute, University of Lagos, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Speakers include Prof. Oloruntola Sunday, Dean, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, UNILAG; Lady Lola Adey, AI Consultant; Bosun Osifowora, Legal Practitioner; and Dr. Akin Olaniyan, Convener, Centre for Social Media Research.
The discussions will revolve around topics such as ethical communication in the AI era, digital responsibility, and the evolving impact of new media on traditional platforms.
The day will also feature a youth panel session titled “The Future is Now – Youth, Tech & Purpose,” moderated by Bodex Hungbo and Lanre Basamta, with panelists including Thelma Lawson and Roseanne Chikwendu among other young innovators.
Day Two: The Influence Experience
The second day, themed “The Influence Experience,” will hold at Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, from 10:00 a.m., focusing on the professional, legal, and creative ecosystems driven by AI and digital technology.
Prominent speakers include Gbenga Omotoso, Lagos Commissioner for Information and Strategy; Kayode Akintemi, CEO of News Central TV; Dr. Kelechi Okoro (The Healthertainer), Founder, Plan Am Well; Dr. Seye Kehinde, Media Entrepreneur; and Mr. Bamidele Olamilekan A., Principal Partner, Lekan Bamidele & Co.
Panel sessions moderated by Dr. Barr. Uzoamaka Orakwue and Osayuwamen Saleh will also feature well-known figures such as Bimbo Akintola, Chinonso Ukah (Nons Miraj), Temitope Ajayi, Sola Fajobi, and Omolabake Fatayo, who will dissect “The Influence Economy – A.I, Branding, and Human Connection.”
Day Three: Awards & Recognition
The grand finale will culminate in the Bodex Media Awards, a glamorous ceremony celebrating individuals and brands leveraging technology and social media for social good.
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will headline the event as the Keynote Speaker and Honouree, receiving the “Most Friendly Digital Media Governor of the Year Award.”
Other awardees include: Dr. Seye Kehinde – Lifetime Media Excellence Award ; Denrele Edun – Icon of Influence Award ; Kolade Mayowa Bolade – Most Innovative Fashion Entrepreneur ; Ademusoro Emmanuel (Mr. Escom1) – Breakthrough Skit Maker of the Year ; Erem Emeka Nehemiah – Animation Brand of the Year ; Adeyemo Biliqis Omolade – Strategic Fashion Entrepreneur of the Year ; Obembe Oluwatosin Femi – Creative Leadership & Innovation of the Year ; Hungbo noted that the awards segment underscores Bodex Media’s vision of “celebrating ethical influence, creativity, and leadership across generations.”
