The bodies of Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele, close friends of British heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, who died in a fatal road accident in Ogun State, have been flown abroad for burial.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the two men lost their lives on December 29, 2025, when a Lexus SUV conveying them and Joshua collided with a stationary truck along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, around Makun area of the state.
The impact of the crash reportedly killed Ghami and Ayodele on the spot, while Joshua sustained injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment.
Sources said the victims had travelled to Nigeria to spend the Christmas and New Year holidays with the former world heavyweight champion before the tragic accident cut short their visit.
Joshua, who was also in the vehicle at the time of the crash, was discharged from hospital on Wednesday, December 31, after receiving medical care for his injuries.
Following the conclusion of necessary procedures, the bodies of the deceased were released to their families and have now been transported out of the country for burial, according to information circulating on Thursday.
The incident has continued to attract widespread reactions on social media, with many Nigerians expressing grief and condolences to the families of the deceased, while also raising concerns over road safety, particularly along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
