A House of Assembly member – elect, for Chibok Constituency in Borno, Nuhu Clark has died 23 days after he was announced winner of the election.
The state house of assembly election was conducted alongside the governorship polls on March 18.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the recent development was confirmed by Commissioner for Home Affairs, information and culture in the state, Babakura Abbajatau in an interview on Wednesday.
He stated that Clark died on Monday while receiving treatment in India.
The Deputy Governor of the state, Umar Kadafur, who expressed his sympathy said “it is a loss to his immediate family, the people of southern Borno and the entire state.
“The death of Clark will be a very huge loss to the All Progressives Congress. His contributions to the development of the state will be missed “.
He was said to have resigned his position as the commissioner to contest for Chibok constituency under the APC.
The deceased was the former commissioner for poverty alleviation in Borno.
