The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) has declared Senator Lekan Mustapha of the All Progressive Congress,as the winner of the Ogun east Senatorial district.
Prof Chris Onwuka. Returning officer announced the result at Ijebu Ode LG collation center on Tuesday.
It would be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission once declared the senatorial district’s result as inconclusive over the cancellation of result in Ajebandele in Ijebu north area of the state.
The Returning office of the senatorial district,Prof Chris Onwuka has hereby declared senator Lekan Mustapha of the APC as the winner.
Lekan Mustapha has been declared winner of the Ogun East Senatorial district election after polling a total vote of 85,761 to defeat Ayoola Sosanwo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who had 83,528 votes.
Prof Onwuka however explained that the result was arrived at after excluding the vote from the cancelled polling unit in Ajebandele ward.
The returning officer also started that there are ten polling units in the said ward from which one it was marred with irregularities.
