Ace broadcaster and travel consultant, Adewale Dada, popularly known as The Good, has emerged winner of the Rwandair Business Class Flight Ticket at the 3rd National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA) Western Zonal Symposium held in Ibadan.
PLATFORM TIMES reports that the annual symposium, which brought together top players in the tourism and aviation industries, was themed “Nigerian Tourism Industry: Overcoming Challenges, Achieving Success.”
A statement sent to PLATFORM TIMES on Friday read that guest speaker, Naji Halawi, identified poor infrastructure, underfunding, insecurity, and policy inconsistencies as major obstacles to the growth of the Nigerian tourism sector.
He, however, expressed optimism that the challenges could be overcome with government sincerity and the right investment in tourism potential.
Other notable speakers included Dr. Wale-Ojo Lanre, Director-General of the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism; Ogun State Commissioner for Tourism and Culture, Dr. Sesan Fagbayi; and Dr. Kola Lawal of the Federal Polytechnic, Ibadan.
NANTA National President, Mr. Yinka Folami, and the association’s Western Zone Vice President, Otunba Babatunde Adesokan, charged members to intensify efforts toward making tourism one of Nigeria’s leading revenue-generating sectors.
Dada clinched the Rwandair ticket after topping a performance-based assessment that set him ahead of other participants.
The event was graced by dignitaries including Prince Jide Saraye, veteran NANTA member; Dr. Olatokunbo Dagunduro, 2nd Vice President of NANTA; Ginette Kadigiri, Rwandair’s Regional Manager for West and Central Africa; and Mrs. Lola Adewole, NANTA National PRO.
