The Association of Nigerian Broadcasters (ANBROAD) has paid glowing tributes to two eminent Nigerians—former Oyo State Governor, Dr. Omololu Olunloyo, and prominent politician, Alhaji Yekeen Sherif Adeojo—who recently passed away, describing their deaths as monumental losses to the nation.

Dr. Olunloyo, a distinguished mathematician, engineer, technocrat, and revered public servant, died on April 6, 2025, just days before his 90th birthday.

ANBROAD described him as a towering figure whose lifetime of contributions to academia, governance, and national development left indelible marks.

In a condolence message signed by the association’s National Secretary General, Dr. Sola Gbayisomore, and released by its Corporate Communications Secretary, Comrade Akolade Adekola (O.B.O.), the ANBROAD President, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Abdulganeey (MR. GRA), praised Dr. Olunloyo’s intellect and patriotism.

“Dr. Olunloyo embodied brilliance and integrity. His leadership was marked by vision and excellence, and his contributions to national discourse and public service remain a benchmark for generations,” the statement read.

Also mourned was Alhaji Yekeen Sherif Adeojo, a respected chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a former governorship contender in Oyo State in the 1999 elections.

ANBROAD commiserated with the Adeojo family and the wider political community, recognizing the deceased’s role in grassroots mobilization and political development.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and community of Alhaji Adeojo. His commitment to service and democratic ideals is worthy of remembrance,” the statement added.

The association offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the souls of both leaders and reaffirmed its commitment to honoring their memories by upholding the values they represented.

“May their legacies live on as beacons of leadership, resilience, and service to humanity,” ANBROAD concluded.
