Bayer Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso has revealed he is making a big effort to ensure Victor Boniface stays focused on football due to the forward’s jovial nature.
Boniface, who is noted for his banters on social media, was one of the stars of Bayer Leverkusen’s Bundesliga success last season.
The 23-year-old registered 14 goals and nine assists in 23 league appearances for Die Werkself.
Alonso admitted the striker’s light-hearted nature has made him a popular figure among his teammates.
The Spaniard further claimed he has to do more to keep the attention of the Super Eagles star on club targets.
“All the teammates really like him, the guy creates a great atmosphere. Sometimes you have to force him to focus only on football, but that’s my job, that’s what I’m trying to do,” Alonso was quoted by Efotbal.
