Voters at Sodubi open space opposite Greenland in Abeokuta South Local Government have insisted on verifying the accuracy of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS, record of registered voters as well as accredited voters before voting commence.
The voters’ action was to protest the malfunctioning of the BVAS in the Area.
Reports also came in from Obada Oko that as at 9:07am, INEC officials were trying to resolve the issue of BVAS at Ward 10, PU 8, Asipa, Obada Oko, Ewekoro LG thus causing a delay in the electoral process. and Ewekoro that no BVAS was working in that area.
INEC officials told voters that they have called INEC technicians who were on their way to fix it.
From a radio programme monitored by our reporters, there was a call in which a voter said BVAS machine was not functioning in unit 15, Oke Lantoro.
PLATPLATFORM TIMESorters onsite noticed the pressure mounted on the INEC officials to ensure pthe proper functioning of the BVAS machine and the records.
Some voters were already expressing frustration at the BVAS which was not capturing voters or not working at all.
