In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through Ekiti, the Chief Medical Director of Ekiti State Specialist Hospital, Ikere-Ekiti, Dr. Olubiyi Olaolu Abidemi, is facing serious allegations of assaulting his pregnant wife.

The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday, 14th September 2023, at their residence on St. David Hospital Compound in Ifaki-Ekiti.

The dispute ignited when Dr. Abidemi allegedly demanded that his wife care for his pregnant mistress, a staff member.

However, tensions escalated as his wife refused to comply with his request, leading to a violent altercation. Witnesses claim that Dr.

Abidemi threatened his wife’s life and attempted to strangle her during the heated argument.

Dr. (Mrs.) Olubiyi Adenike, a lecturer at Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, sustained severe injuries to her neck and was subsequently admitted to the accident and emergency unit of Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti.

The victim’s family has called upon the relevant authorities to intervene and seek justice for their daughter. Despite these serious allegations, Dr. Abidemi has declined to comment to the press, maintaining that his wife is feigning her injuries, despite receiving medical attention
