Contract Saga: Contractor Dares Former APC Rep Member, Makinde To Go To Court

The Executive Director in charge of Operations of Ojulowo Omoluabi Empire Holding Limited, Josphine Amadi, has responded to a former House of Representative member in Osun state, Rotimi Makinde, who threatened to sue the company.

Makinde’s legal threat was in reaction to the company’s request for a refund of about N28 million allegedly collected by the politician in respect of a contract which he failed to execute.

The company had been awarded a contract to construct a radio station at the Federal Polytechnic, Damaturu in Yobe State.

It was gathered that Makinde, who is a member of the polytechnic’s governing council, was instrumental in how Ojulowo Omoluabi Empire Holdings was awarded the project in April, 2023.

However, the former lawmaker launched an attack on the CEO of the company, Victor Eniola Mark, accusing him of relocating to the United Kingdom with the project fund.

But, the company replied that Makinde had collected N27.9 million of the money meant for the completion of the project, asking him to return same immediately.

The company also dismissed Makinde’s claiming, noting that the company’s boss had been in the Uk even before the contract was awarded.

Makinde, however, told news men that he had briefed his lawyer and legal action will soon be taken against the company.

But in another statement dated 22nd June, same day Makinde reacted, the company dared the lawmaker to go to court insisting that it is either he refund the said money or have his day in court.

    MAKINDE, GO TO COURT

Family, friends and well wishers have drawn our attention to a badly written release credited to Mr Rotimi Makinde, being circulated as a rejoinder to our demand for refund.

It is sad to note that in his typical fashion, he avoided the substance of the demand but chose to drag my personality into his miry tarmagance and send his mob of zombie-like sycophants to threaten me.

Makinde’s public dishonesty and petulant vituperations only throw him up as a replica of the failed politician, Lekoja Brown in Ola Rotimi’s satire, ‘Our Husband Has Gone Mad Again’

The same Makinde who pleaded with our company to resuscitate his dying legacy now goes around spreading lies.

Oodua FM before this team had only a leaking roof, ramshackle equipments and a thunder-struck antenna.

As individuals and as a corporate entity we will not be intimidated by Makinde’s threat to life, and numerous lies, neither will we be distracted with this noise to forget our demand for a refund.

It’s important to state that Ojulowo Omoluabi Empire Holdings Limited will not be dragged into a war of words with him but will rather look to meet him in court.

Our legal team has been briefed and we await his court summons as he has threatened.

Regardless, Rotimi Makinde should prepare to defend himself in a competent court over fraud, libel, misrepresentation and threat to life.

    Josephine B. Amadi
    Executive Director, Operations
