    Corp Member Rapes Lover’s Friend In Ogun

    A youth corps member, Adebola Sodiq, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly raping a 20-year-old lady.

    PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the incident occurred on May 9, 2023, at Agbajege village in the state.

    The suspect was arrested following a report lodged at Owode Egba divisional headquarters by the victim .

    The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Abimbola Oyeyemi in a statement said,  the victim  reported the incident to the police.

    Oyeyemi said ,the victim narrated that the  suspect who is a boyfriend to her close friend visited her apartment where she lives with her co workers on the pretext of buying her a gift to celebrate her birthday.

    She stated that she followed him, unaware of his ulterior motive, until he forcefully dragged her to his room in the school where he is serving and raped her.

    Oyeyemi, disclosed “the suspect was arrested following a report made by the victim at Owode Egba divisional headquarters.

    “Upon investigation, the suspect confessed to the crime but claimed that he didn’t know what came over him at the time”.

    Meanwhile, the victim has been taken to the Owode Egba General Hospital for medical treatment.

    In line with the report made by the victim, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olanrewaju Oladimeji, ordered that the suspect be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and possible prosecution.
