    Court Grants Two Suspected Thieves Bail Of N200,000, Two Sureties

    A Magistrate court, sitting in Abeokuta has granted two suspected thieves, Abiodun Ajayi, and Bello Abubakar, bail of N200,000 as they were also asked to provide two sureties each.

    The suspects, on Monday, were prosecuted for allegedly stealing and selling wire of one Ogunwemimo Kayode worth N3m.

    Ajayi was charged for breaking into Kayode’s building with the intention to practice theft, as he was also charged for illegally invading into Kayode’s building.

    However, he pleaded not guilty to the charges.

    Abubakar, who was accused of collecting a stolen wire, worth 3m from Ajayi for the purpose of selling it also pleaded not guilty.

    The court cited, “that you Abiodun Ajayi, living at No 5 OLG pry School, Obantoko, around 2.22pm, at No. 9 Oluwaoloraun street Labeawa Close, Oke Aregba, broke into Ogunwemimo Kayode’s building to steal.

    “At the same day, that you entered the same house illegally with the intention of theft, and that you stole quantity wire worth 3m which belongs to Kayode.

    “Also, that you Abubakar bello, living at Asero garage, Abeokuta, on 20th of June, 2023, around 10.08pm, at Asero collected a wire worth 3m to sell from Abiodun Ajayi.”

    The court however, adjourned the case till the 10th of July for hearing as it granted each of them bail, which requires a sum of N200,000 each and provision of two sureties.
