A Lagos Magistrate’s Court sitting in Eti-Osa, Lagos,on Wednesday, remanded a lady, Olufunmilayo Brioluwa, in Kirikiri Correctional Centre for assaulting a police officer, in Ogombo area of Lagos State, on Sunday.
The lady was alleged to have assaulted and held on to the officer’s uniform during a stop and search.
She was arraigned before Magistrate M.O. Alao, and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate however, granted the plea of the prosecutor to remand her for 21 days pending investigation, and adjourned to June 6, 2023.
Meanwhile, Nigerians have demanded the arrest and prosecution of officers caught on camera assaulting a commercial motorcyclist, popular known as Okada at Oja Oba, Ogundele Street close, Abule Egba under bridge in Lagos.
Reports have it that the incident happened four days ago, but started trending on Wednesday,
In the 45 seconds video, the police officers were seen beating the commercial motorcyclist with sticks and left him with bloodied forehead.
