The Proprietor of Crescent University, Abeokuta, Prince Adesegun Ajibola, SAN, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Oba Olufemi Ogunleye, describing him  as a “worthy and exemplary Ambassador” of the university.

Ajibola in a statement issued on Friday, praised Oba Ogunleye for his remarkable contributions across various sectors, particularly highlighting his unwavering commitment to the growth and development of Crescent University from its early days.

Ajibola noted that Oba Ogunleye’s involvement with Crescent University was not merely ceremonial.

He recalled the late Oba’s steadfast support and close relationship with the university’s Founder, His Excellency Prince Bola Ajibola, from the time when Prince Bola Ajibola served as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.

He added that the  bond continued beyond Prince Bola Ajibola’s tenure and life, saying, Oba Ogunleye remained actively engaged in supporting the Ajibola family and the university in numerous capacities.

He said “Oba Olufemi Ogunleye was more than just a friend to the Ajibola family; he was a stalwart supporter and a beacon of excellence and dedication.

“His passing is a significant loss not only to us at Crescent University but also to the broader community he so passionately served.”

Ajibola extolled the virtues of Oba Ogunleye, stressing  his multifaceted roles and achievements.

PLATFORM TIMES reports that Oba Ogunleye was celebrated for his contributions to journalism, public relations, traditional rulership, and legal scholarship.

It was further gathered that he was on the brink of adding another feather to his cap with a PhD convocation scheduled for July.

“Oba Ogunleye was a paragon of virtue and a role model to millions of youths in Owu, Ogun State, and across Nigeria.

“His legacy in journalism, public relations, traditional rulership, and law will continue to inspire future generations,” Ajibola remarked
