Tension has erupted in Auchi, Edo State, as rival cult factions clashed, resulting in the killing of an alleged Eiye member in front of his daughter.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that, members of the Aye Confraternity arrived at the scene in a Lexus car, leaving behind their vehicle and weapons after the attack.
PLATFORM TIMES further gathered that the incident was a retaliation for the killing of an Aye member named Emma on Monday.
Despite the presence of the victim’s daughter, the assailants swiftly executed the attack.
It was learnt that local vigilante groups pursued the attackers, who fled the scene leaving behind their operation car.
The Edo State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
Videos circulating online depict the aftermath of the gruesome event, shedding light on the growing concern of cult-related violence in the region.
