In a strategic move to bolster employment opportunities within the country and beyond, Dangote Cement Plc has successfully inducted 81 trainees into its highly acclaimed Graduate Trainee Programme.

The Graduate Trainee Programme, a cornerstone of Dangote Cement’s human capital investment, has witnessed the seamless integration of a cohort of trainees across the company’s operations throughout Africa.

This move not only addresses the imperative need for skilled professionals but also aligns with Dangote Cement’s broader mission to play a pivotal role in workforce development on the continent.

In recognition of outstanding service and dedication, Dangote Cement also took the opportunity to honour its exceptional staff with the prestigious ‘Long Service Award’ and ‘Hall of Wall of Fame Employee Award.’

These accolades were bestowed upon individuals who have exemplified the company’s core values, including customer care, entrepreneurship, excellence, and leadership quality.

The recipients of these awards, having dedicated a minimum of five years to the success of Dangote Cement, were acknowledged with significant monetary rewards.

Speaking at the celebratory event held over the weekend in Lagos, Chairman Aliko Dangote expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the distinguished staff in the outgoing year of 2023.

“We are honoring some of our staff for their long service to the company. We are also celebrating our graduate trainees who are officially rounding up their induction program,” remarked Chairman Aliko Dangote.

He went on to highlight the significance of these celebrations, commending the collective efforts that led to the company’s remarkable progress in 2023 despite the challenging operating environment and economic turbulence.

Chairman Dangote extended his heartfelt thanks to all employees for their unwavering commitment and high performance, attributing these qualities to the company’s continued dominance in the Cement sector not only in Nigeria but across Africa.

He proudly announced that Dangote Cement has maintained its position as Africa’s leading cement producer, boasting an impressive 52 million metric tonnes capacity per annum across the continent.

Looking ahead, Chairman Dangote outlined the company’s ambitious plans, including the commissioning of Cote d’Ivoire plants and the initiation of a six-million-tonne facility in Itori, Ogun state.

He emphasized the collaborative efforts that have transformed Nigeria from a cement importer to an exporter, a success story poised to repeat itself in the energy sector as the petrochemical refinery gears up to become fully operational in the next few months.
