In a resounding call for unity and economic growth, Aliko Dangote, Africa’s foremost entrepreneur and President/CE of Dangote Industries Limited, has emphasized the vital need for greater integration of African economies and expanded trade and investments across the continent.

Represented by Engr. Ahmed Mansur, the Group Executive Director, Stakeholder Management and Government Relations, Dangote highlighted the significance of initiatives like the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) and the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) during the ongoing IATF 2023 in Cairo.

“The Dangote Group, a major player with investments spanning 14 countries in Africa, believes in the importance of economic integration and trade expansion. Our commitment to both AfCFTA and IATF reflects our dedication to fostering continuous growth and expansion across the continent,” stated Dangote.

The IATF 2023 has become a showcase for the strength of Dangote Industries, with subsidiaries such as Dangote Cement PLC, Dangote Sugar PLC, and Dangote Packaging Limited exhibiting their notable products and services.

As a significant sponsor and event partner, Dangote’s stand attracted participants seeking collaboration opportunities, emphasizing the conglomerate’s pivotal role in promoting entrepreneurship and development in Africa.

Engr. Ahmed Mansur, speaking on the sidelines of the event, emphasized Dangote’s responsibility to promote its brand and contribute to Africa’s economic development. “Dangote has a responsibility because it is recognized all over Africa.

We need to show the flag, not just for Dangote but for Nigeria. We need to continue to recognize this responsibility,” he added.

The 3rd Intra-African Trade Fair, organized by Afreximbank in collaboration with the African Union and AfCFTA Secretariat, drew 1,600 exhibitors from over 75 countries.

With the theme ‘Connecting African Markets,’ the event aims to boost trade among African nations, drive regional integration, and accelerate the implementation of the AfCFTA Agreement.

Dangote Industries Limited, a key investor in the Nigerian economy, remains a pivotal force in Africa’s industrial landscape with diverse interests across sectors.

The trade fair is set to conclude on November 15.
