The Dangote Group has called for stronger public-private partnerships to boost industrialisation, create jobs, and reduce import dependence, as it showcased its industrial might at Dangote Special Day during the 15th Gateway International Trade Fair in Abeokuta yesterday.
Speaking through Tunde Mabogunje, Regional Sales Director, Lagos, Fatima Aliko-Dangote, Executive Director of Commercial Operations, said the trade fair, themed “Promoting Businesses through Partnership”, perfectly aligns with the Group’s Vision 2030 roadmap to accelerate industrial expansion and spur cross-border investments.
“Our presence underlines Dangote Industries’ commitment to deepen commerce, strengthen value chains, and open markets for manufacturers, MSMEs, and consumers across the region,” she said.
“Ogun State is a proven industrial hub, and public-private collaboration is key to sustained competitiveness.”
Aliko-Dangote highlighted Dangote Group’s ongoing investments in Ogun State, including the Ibese cement plant with a 12 million tonnes annual capacity and the new Itori 6Mta integrated cement plant, aimed at boosting supply chains and regional exports.
She also revealed plans to expand the Dangote Petroleum Refinery from 650,000 bpd to 1.4 million bpd within three years, strengthening energy security and allied industries such as polypropylene.
Beyond Nigeria, the conglomerate is partnering with Ethiopian Investment Holdings on a $2.5 billion urea fertiliser complex in Gode, designed to produce 3 million tonnes annually, while a 3Mta grinding plant in Côte d’Ivoire supports regional trade and Africa’s industrial self-reliance.

Visitors to the Dangote Pavilion can access discounted products ranging from cement, sugar, salt, fertiliser, rice, to Sinotrucks, reinforcing the Group’s commitment to affordable quality and local economic empowerment.
Aliko-Dangote stressed the prioritisation of Ogun-based suppliers, transporters, artisans, and SMEs, saying localized investment multiplies jobs and growth across communities.

Commending OGUNCCIMA for its consistency and professionalism, Aliko-Dangote encouraged fair participants to explore partnerships in distribution, logistics, retail, and project supply, describing such collaborations as the engine that powers factories, farms, and families across the region.
Speaking at the event, OGUNCCIMA Chairman, Niyi Oshiyemi, said Dangote Day is more than ceremonial; it serves as a source of inspiration for entrepreneurs, investors, and youths committed to building sustainable businesses.

The 15th Gateway International Trade Fair, which runs from February 6–16, continues to offer a vibrant platform for business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) engagement, driving trade, investment, and industrial growth in Ogun State and beyond.
