The 27th Annual Sports Day of the Blind was held on May 15, 2025, at the Yaba College of Technology Sports Centre, drawing attention to the importance of inclusion in sports and society.
Organised by the Federal Nigeria Society for the Blind (FNSB) and sponsored by the Daramola Dynasty Foundation, the event was a colourful celebration of resilience, ability, and equality.
Held under the theme “Champions of Inclusion,” the Sports Day featured a vibrant display of talent, strength, and determination.
Events such as the March Past, Tug of War, and various track races highlighted the athletic prowess and team spirit of visually impaired participants.
A major attraction of the day was the football match involving players from the Daramola Football Academy, who travelled from Isara Remo, Ogun State, to be part of the occasion.
The match ended in a thrilling draw, leaving spectators on their feet and showcasing the universal language of football, regardless of physical limitations.
Founder of the Daramola Dynasty Foundation, Engr. Olanrewaju Daramola, was on ground to lend his support and interact with participants.
In his remarks, he reiterated the Foundation’s commitment to creating inclusive platforms through sports, mentorship, and community development.
“This goes beyond the sporting activities,” Engr. Daramola said. “It’s about community, visibility, and the power of believing in every individual’s potential.”
